Pink crocheted scarf for a friend

This was a scarf I crocheted for a friend last Christmas.  It has been so long that I have been on my blog posting anything at all!  I found this pattern in Patons “Modern Vintage Crochet”.  I liked the fringing with the bobbles on the end.  That was the most fun part of making the scarf.  I used this yarn before to make another scarf in 2013.

Pink lurex scarf for a friend’s birthday

pink scarf for a friend 2013Hi there, I haven’t posted on this blog for a long time.  I have made many crocheted items since I last posted on here.  I just haven’t got around to taking photos or posting them on here for a while.  I moved to Auckland, New Zealand last year and some of my work that I did in Sydney, Australia I cannot post here, because it is still in Sydney and I didn’t take photos of these items.  Mostly what you will see in coming posts are works that I did here in Auckland or brought over with me from Sydney.  The above post is a scarf I made for a friend’s birthday before I came over here to NZ.  It comes from a pattern of Jenny King’s “Bobble Scarf” which is featured in “Fashions to Flaunt Crocheted with Noro Yarns” book.  I used a yarn from Spotlight in a pale pink colour with lurex in it to make the scarf.  I loved this pattern, it is so original.  The reason I used this pink yarn is because my friend loves pink.  It is not a Noro yarn.  I thought the lurex in it gave it a bit of glamour.  I also liked how the rows were in diagonals.  I’ll probably use this pattern again in the future.  I will make more posts soon.
